This is now my front cover - I have changed the complete genre of my magazine as well. This is because the shots I have taken did not match 'electro pop', I did further research on other music magazines and came across 'NME' and realised then that my images more fit a genre of 'Indie'.
This is now my contents page - the shots I have taken and the style of the clothes used can fit the genre of 'Indie' more so than electro pop. I have added a 'follow us' for other social networking sites, as this is what many business's/companies do nowadays. I have followed a strict colour scheme of black, red, white and yellow. these colours all fit well together and now my magazine
does look more professional. This is now my double page spread - Once again I have followed my colour scheme, the title for the article is in bold and has a 'rock' attitude as it is in big block letters. The images more represent the the story of what's happening and match the text. The quote -'It does get lonely sometimes' matches the lone image and the model - 'Link' does look all alone. The one other image also matches the text as he looks upset and the text at that point is going over Link speaking to us about his break up and split from his band.
I like how you've used the same colour theme throughout the magazine, this is important in creating a recognizable brand.
ReplyDeleteThe use of shapes on the front cover really work in making it's appearance eye-catching and professional.
The pictures all relate to the stories so it's easy to follow and grasp at a quick glance.
My only comment would be to just look over how you have spaced your text on the double page spread as some of the columns are a little too close together.
You've done a really good job dude. Well done :)
I think that your colour theme is really good and your pictures also look good.
ReplyDeleteEach picture seems suitable to your genre of magazine and they seem like they relate to your stories.
The whole layout of the magazine looks professional and very suitable for your genre.
I think that maybe you need to so some rearranging of the pictures on your contents page as they look a bit muddled at the moment.
Otherwise your magazine looks really good!
I like how you have carried on the colours through your magazine. I like how you have thought about you're outfits for the models. Overall I think you have a good layout of your magazine and it looks good overall.
ReplyDeleteCan I just say before I start, I love your tagline! :D
ReplyDeleteOkay.. back to business *ahem*
Your front page is really eye catching and I really like the use of the banner down the left hand side. Not too many story previews, but it's effective, and it works.
Your contents is probably the weakest of the three, with not much attention from the audience going to the contents itself, but rather to the collaboration of pictures on the right. As well, the sections are not the same size, and I think this could be quite important. Other than that though, your consistent use of your house style colours is effective, and I love the facebook and twitter icons being used...nice idea!
In regards to your double page spread, the layout is good, and I particularly like the bar at the top. The picture in the middle of the text is maybe a little big however, and the lack of space between it and the text makes the page seem quite squashed. The picture on the other side is good however, and I like how you've manipulated the image, cutting most of the background out and allowing readers to focus only on parts of the original image that show some sort of the personality of the artist.
Overall I think your pages are good, and a few tweaks would make them even better :)
The front cover is really fitting with the genre of your magazine as the picture and the colours you have used really complement each other. Loving the title and the tag line as it’s really current and people who listen to that sort of music will understand the meaning behind it. I also like how the image is a close up of the lads face as it really shows the expression and with the direct eye contact to the camera it creates a personal vibe to the magazine.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I could suggest to improve your contents page would be to look at the images and maybe cut out the three girls so you don’t have all the background part of the image visible.
On the contents page I love how the colours have stayed the same bringing about the continuity between the pages. Also I think it is a great idea to add the ‘facebook’ & ‘twitter’ symbols as it really connects with your target audience.
The double page spread in my opinion is set out great as it easy to read with the columns that you have created and the different coloured text really helps the question being asked stand out on the page.
:)
