Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
These are the images of my first magazine that I created and my music magazine.
I have learnt a lot more technology now for example when creating my college magazine I didn't cut around images at all like I can now, and the I didn't ever use the spot healing tool. Now I also have learnt how to create shapes on photoshop as well as moving layers around more appropriately.
My photographs are also different for example I now know that it is best to use a medium close up for the front cover of a magazine and I know how to use different angles with a camera and I know how to make sure my pictures don't go distorted when they are placed in photoshop. When I made my college magazine I just placed the images in photoshop I now know how to open the image in photoshop and cut around it then select the move tool and drag it over to the other document.
When making my college magazine as you can see all my font is big as I was trying to take up space as I didn't know how to make boarders and put in other items as I do now. As you can see on my music magazine cover there are many different types of font and I understand when it should be big and when it should be small. I also now understand what type of font to have for a specific genre, as you can see on my college magazine the colour doesn't match the magazine at all and the font doesn't look like the right thing to advertise college courses.
I also understand genre's better and what goes with that, as you well know because I have changed my music magazine from one genre to something else as my pictures didn't match and neither did the models I had uses, however as I understood genre's I realised I could still make the pictures work when changing the style of he magazine.
The layout of my college magazine is very bland and besides one image and text there is absolutely nothing else, now on my music magazine as you can tell there's images that I have created e.g. arrows, the shape at the side with the 'Top 25 Artists In The World Right Now', there's the rectangle behind the title and the shape in which the pug has been placed. The picture I have used is also not stretched like my college magazine image was, but fits nicely and the image matches the article title as well.
